Location change! (Please see below.) We will be hosting a training session that you won’t want to miss if you serve on a local land-use board, such as Planning & Zoning, Wetlands, Zoning Board of Appeals, or the Conservation Commission.  This will be great for both new commission members as well as seasoned members.  A presentation by Attorney Mike Zizka is planned for Tuesday, February 4th (6:30pm).  Please RSVP.

Attorney Zizka is the author of the famous book “What’s legally required?: A guide to the legal rules for making local land-use decisions”.  As a practicing lawyer since 1982, he has advised or represented sixty different Connecticut municipalities, as well as a host of private landowners, both as counselor and litigator in state and federal courts. His cases have involved issues such as affordable housing, subdivision development, wetlands activities, nonconforming uses, zone changes, environmental pollution and inverse condemnation (“takings”).  Come hear what is in the new edition of his book and how you can use it to keep yourself and your land use commission out of trouble!

We look forward to seeing you there! We anticipate lots of interest in this session and may reach capacity, please RSVP by contacting us no later than January 30th.
